Sugar Queen Jazzband: Michele Denise aka Sugar Queen is an American Chicago blues singer/songwriter with roots in gospel and jazz. At the beginning of her musical career, she studied classical piano and received a scholarship to do so. Her family roots are in North Florida where she developed a natural interest in gospel and blues. In 2016, Michele founded “Sugar Queen. The band's ambition is to interpret the Chicago blues sound. Sugar Queen's smoldering vocal stylings and charismatic stage presence captivates her audience. According to BN De Stem (Willem Jongeneelen): “her appearance is imposing, her personality and voice are equally so. The audience figuratively hangs on her every word”.
