Photo exhibit Cornelia Nauta

Exhibition “L'ERRANCE DE LA COMTESSE” in Kasteel Geldrop From Sunday, November 3 until Sunday, December 22, photographer Cornelia Nauta presents her exhibition “L'ERRANCE DE LA COMTESSE” in Kasteel Geldrop. This exhibition offers a special look at the art of self-portrait photography, with a strong focus on mise-en-scène, inspired by the rich French culture and history. After earning her first-grade teaching degree in drawing from the Utrecht School of the Arts in 1988, she left for Paris for five years. There she focused on film and screenwriting, including at the prestigious film academy Louis Lumière. Since 1997, she has focused entirely on photography. Her work is steeped in the influences of the French Revolution and the poetry of Charles Baudelaire, which is reflected in the various roles she plays in her photographs. Her analog photography is characterized by the use of multiple exposures of the negative, which adds a special depth and complexity to her images. For the series “L'errance de la comtesse,” which means “the wanderings of the countess,” she works both analog with a technical camera in her studio and digitally on location. Opening hours are Thursday, Friday, and Sunday between 2 and 5 p.m. (except Sunday, Nov. 24, due to St. Nicholas visits). The exhibition rooms of Geldrop Castle are located on the second floor and are wheelchair accessible. Address Castle Geldrop, Mi
