GRATIS lezing: De engel van Curaçao

A Philips director in Lithuania, Jan Zwartendijk, acting as a temporary consul at the beginning of World War II, saved approximately ten thousand Jews by issuing visas to Curaçao. He never knew if his action was successful and even received a reprimand from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Minister Joseph Luns. This year, he has been rehabilitated and posthumously awarded the Gold Medal of the Medal of Honor for Humanitarian Assistance.
