On Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, Guus Biemans will be our guest speaker from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM, presenting an exceptionally interesting lecture on 3D Design and Printing (Additive Manufacturing). Following an introduction to the history of 3D printing, he will delve into the methods of printing and the various materials that can be used, accompanied by ample examples showcasing possibilities for hobbyists, artists, and professionals alike.

Furthermore, he will explore the affordable options available to hobbyists, discussing what is needed to get started and how to realize desired products, ranging from simple brackets to jewelry. This will include a comparison of several hobbyist printers, explaining their suitability for different applications.

Moreover, Guus will address the process required to print a component, covering topics such as creating a model in a 3D design program, available (open-source) software, and ensuring the design can be printed.
