Children's festival - Welcome to Neverland - A celebration for children up to 12 years old

Do you have the big dream of standing on a stage? To become a sculptor or a pop star? Do it during the Children's Festival "Welcome to Neverland" at the Weeffabriek. For kids up to 12 years old.

Once upon a time... there was a piece of wood! Hmm, not really an exciting start to a story, right? But what if I told you that this piece of wood could talk? What if this piece of wood was turned into a puppet that goes on an incredible adventure... From the circus to inside the belly of a shark! Really. And what if this puppet, whose name is Pinocchio by the way, wants nothing more than to become a real boy?

Join Pinocchio's adventure through Italy, in the quirky adaptation by Gesneden Koek of the classic fairy tale from 1883. With absurd characters, imaginative storytelling, and full of humor. A performance about goodness and growing up for everyone aged 6 and up.

In the small Spoel, the book of Peter Pan will be read. The story: Wendy and her brothers John and Michael embark on a magical adventure when Peter Pan, the hero from their favorite stories, invites them to Neverland. There they meet the mermaids, are captured by the Indians, and, together with the brave fairy Tinkerbell, they fight Captain Hook and his wicked pirates. How does it all end? Come listen and experience the adventures in Neverland.

15:00-16.00 theater performance Aunt Tulip for children aged 4 - 6 years old. Sign up - FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED

Aunt Tulip wants to be everything! She's busy today in her flower garden because she wants to be everything. Then a huge package is delivered. What could be inside? Curious, Aunt Tulip takes a look and... immediately dives into her imaginative world full of ideas. Luckily, musical Neighbor Ben keeps her grounded. Together they discover that you can become all sorts of things, yes even strange things, and... that there's music in everything.

Fun for children in grades 1-2-3. They can sing along, clap, act silly, and get to know different musical instruments. And Aunt Tulip? She dives into a different story with everything she encounters in her garden.

Ukulele Workshop (age 4+) also at 15:30 and 16:30 These little guitars immediately make you feel like going on vacation to Hawaii! Have you always wanted to learn to play your favorite song? The ukulele is the instrument to quickly learn songs. So come and watch and play along!

Percussion Workshop (age 2+)

Ever wanted to play on a drum set? Come discover what rhythm can be! Together with our teacher Jimmi, you will get to know the different sides of percussion, after which you can play together with a real orchestra.

Saxonette or Trumpet Workshop (age 7+) Have you always wanted to be on stage or are you interested in playing in a big orchestra? Then get to know the saxonette now! This instrument prepares you for instruments like the saxophone or clarinet and the trumpet. So join in and get ready for a performance on the big stage full of wonderful music.

Pirate Orchestra GMC During the children's festival, the Pirate Orchestra GMC will play pieces around the theme of Pirates and Neverland. Children from the workshops are invited to play along with the song of Pirate Piet. Children are also asked if they want to conduct. The GMC will perform twice.
