The Strabrechtse Heide is a wide and colorful nature reserve of approximately 1500 hectares, located in the municipalities of Heeze-Leende, Someren and Geldrop-Mierlo. It is truly one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Brabant. The moment you walk onto the heathland, you cannot help but hold your breath: it is so beautiful there.

Various cycling and walking routes lead you to the most beautiful places on the heath. The Rulserbootpad, the Heideloopje, the Herderspad, and the Snuffelroute are a few examples. Natuurpoort De Plaetse & de Strabrechtse heide in Heeze is a wonderful starting point, or Manege Meulendijks in Geldrop. From Mierlo you can also walk or cycle straight up the Strabrechtse heide: here you start on the Heezerweg.

The nature on the Strabrechtse Heide is so valuable that it has the protected Natura 2000 status. Do you like cycling or walking and enjoy nature, then this great nature reserve is a must.

The area is almost entirely owned by the municipality of Someren, Staatsbosbeheer and Brabants Landschap.

The Beuven The Beuven is a large nature reserve in the Lieropse Heide. The fen is approximately 85 hectares, making it the largest fen on the Stabrechtse Heide and in the Netherlands. Bird lover? Then you absolutely can't believe your eyes here. The Beuven has a large number of breeding bird species. Don't forget your binoculars!
